Mahalo to Courtney Puig for all the kokua with the Kilauea Art Night last weekend! It’s a great event even if Sandy Poenhelt was stuck in the Kapaa traffic and came late.
Courtney said she is grateful to Dr. Mark Nesselson for helping coordinate the monthly event, where Darin Moriki got to sample some real arepas (Venezuelan food) from Pat Gmelin, who will be celebrating her birthday real soon.
There is nothing stale because, like Larry Feinstein of The Beer Company, Courtney rotates the vendors (50 in all!) so there is always something new to try (like the ice cream with coconut milk and lilikoi from Sparrow Fontoura of Powerhouse Creamery (and we didn’t have to cross the bridge).
Kalen Kelekoma (he even booth sits so vendors can check out the goodies) still remembers the Kalo Festival at the Waipa facility and made sure the lilikoi bars came over the bridge, and Kahu Rennie Mau had his gear in tow to get photos of the young fire dancers.
