Kauai High School will open play at the Hawaiian Airlines Hawaii High School Athletic Association Wednesday against the No. 4 seed Hawaii Baptist Academy.
Despite posting an undefeated record on its road to the Kauai Interscholastic Federation title, Kauai will tip off in the quarterfinals of the Division II tournament, states an HHSAA announcement Sunday morning. The game starts at 7 p.m. at the Farrington High School gym.
Top seed for the Division II is Pahoa High School of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation with Kaiser High School getting the No. 2 seed. Seabury Hall earns the No. 3 seed.
Other schools participating in the Division II tournament include Kalani, Damien and Kohala high schools.
Punahou gets the top seed for Division I play with Farrington being named the No. 2 seed. Lahainaluna and Kona-waena earns the No. 3 and 4 seeds, respectively, and will enjoy a bye until the Thursday quarterfinals.
Other schools participating in the Division I tournament include Maui, Kalaheo, Kahuku, Moana-lua, Kamehameha Schools-Big Island, Campbell, Iolani and Leilehua high schools.
