LIHUE — For one day, dental service by Dr. Joseph Chu was free.
“Valentine’s is about giving back,” Chu said Wednesday. “This is the time of year after people have gotten through the holidays, and it’s a nice way to start the new year. It’s about love — lots of love for the community.”
Chu, a Honolulu-based dentist, visits Kauai twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, maintaining a chair at Kauai Endontics.
This is the third year Chu has offered the free dental day, when he sees his patients by appointment.
“This is something I learned from my mentors in New York,” Chu said. “It’s a great feeling to give back, and when I started practicing in Hawaii, I thought this is a great way to honor my mentors as well as give back to the community.”
