Daniel Omakanim
Daniel “Danny” Omakanim passed away on January 19, 2015 at KVMH, Waimea, at the age of 79. Born on June 24, 1935, in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the Gay & Robinson Sugar Plantation in Makaweli.
He is preceded in death by his father, Domingo Omakanim; and hanai-sister, Nancy “Daling” Espinosa.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores “Loling” Omakanim; his wife, Elaine Omakanim; son, Damien “Kaimana” Omakanim of Waimea; daughter Lynn (Tim) Mira of Lawai; and two grandchildren, Cory Mira of Honolulu and Kyle (Brandi) Mira of Honolulu.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday February 7, 2015 at the Waimea Sacred Heart’s Catholic Church, at 9:30AM. Services will begin at 11AM with lunch to follow. Committal service at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery at 2:30PM.

John Gott
John David Gott passed away on January 14, 2015 in Kapaa, HI on the island of Kauai. John, or JD as he preferred to be called, was born on May 30, 1954 in Kansas City, MO to Frederick and Selma Gott, who preceded him in death. He was the middle of five children, all of whom survive him: sisters, Linda (Gene) Maddox, Karen (Greg) Neuweiler, and Janet Gott, and brother, Steve (Rhonda) Gott. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
JD was an adventurous soul, living in diverse places: Alaska, California, Idaho, Florida, Oregon and Hawaii. He was a capable and caring caregiver to the elderly.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. If you wish, please make a donation to your favorite charity in JDs name.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Gott family with arrangements.
Florence Tomita
Florence “Aunty Flo” Tomita of Lihue passed away on February 1, 2015. She was a business owner and retail manager.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa (Brandon Vallejos) Tomita of Lihue, Nancy (Jerry) Berson of Maryland, and Kerry (Dane) Han of Maui; 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Alan Nakamura of Sacramento and Rex Nakamura of Lihue; two sisters, Eleanor (James) Kimura of San Francisco and Janet Malindog of Sacramento; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Lihue Hongwanji Church at 3PM. Services are to follow at 4PM.

Mary Albao
Mary Ponce Albao of Harbor City, California passed away on January 19, 2015 at the age of 88. She was born on Kauai.
She is survived by her son Edward Albao Jr., 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on February 20, 2015 at St. Margaret, Mary Lomita, CA 90717. Donations may be made to City of Hope and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Green Hills Memorial Park.
Eleanor Arrojo
Eleanor Ann Arrojo of Lihue, Kauai passed away on January 23, 2015 in Honolulu, her place of birth at the age of 67. She was an early education teacher at Immaculate Conception, St. Catherine’s and Holy Cross Schools on Kauai
She is survived by her husband, Donald Gregory Arrojo, sons, Michael (Debbie) Manuwa, of Oahu, Randy (Janine) Manuwa, of Oahu and Jon (Del) of Lihue and daughter Melissa Arrojo ( Tommejoe) of Lihue, by her brothers, Alan Manosa, Steven Manosa and Sidney (Nani) Manosa,, sisters, Theresa “Joyce” Magdadaro, Diane Barbadillo, Caregiver, Faye Yoshida and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family for visitation at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, February 7, 2015, 8:30-9:45am, followed by Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Goro Ozaki
Goro George Ozaki of Lihue passed away on January 10, 2015 in Honolulu, at the age of 93. Born in Waimea, Kauai, he was a retired Jeweler; he was in 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 522nd Field Artillery A-Battery.
He is survived by his wife, Hatsuyo “Hattie” Ozaki of Lihue; daughter, Liane (Aaron) Otake of Aiea; sister, Fujiko (Mitsukazu) Nakayama of Hanapepe.
Private services were held.
