Eleanor Ann Arrojo
Eleanor Ann Arrojo of Lihue, Kauai passed away on January 23, 2015 in Honolulu, her place of birth at the age of 67. She was an early education teacher at Immaculate Conception, St. Catherine’s and Holy Cross Schools on Kauai
She is survived by her husband, Donald Gregory Arrojo, sons, Michael (Debbie) Manuwa,bie) Manawa, of Oahu, Randy (Janine) Manuwa, of Oahu and Jon (Del) of Lihue and daughter Melissa Arrojo ( Tommejoe) of Lihue, by her brothers, Alan Manosa, Steven Manosa and Sydney (Nani) Manosa,, sisters, Theresa “Joyce” Magdadaro, Diane Barbadillo and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family for visitation at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, February 7, 2015, 8:30-9:25am, followed by Mass celebrated at 10:00am. Casual Attire.

Daniel dela Torre
Daniel dela Torre of Kapaa, previously of Kekaha, passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on January 24, 2015, at the age of 87. He was born in Kekaha, Kauai on December 29, 1927, and retired after 43 years with Kekaha Sugar Company as a Controller.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine “Sefa”, daughter Alison (Michael) Fernandes; son, Gary (Carol) dela Torre; 5 grandchildren, Levi (JoAnne) Fernandes, Jocelyn (Chad) Burch, Leland Fernandes, Amanda (Evan) Judd and Daniel “Jake” (Gabriella) dela Torre; 2 great-grandchildren, Sadie Burch, Gustavus Fernandes; brother, Jody (Emily) dela Torre; sister, Lillian (Bill) Whalers; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 3rd at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

John Owens
John M. Owens, 59, of Kauai, formerly Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in his hometown of Bedford, Indiana. Born December 26, 1955 in Bedford Indiana he was the son of John M. and Sybil (Carmichael) Owens. He graduated from Indiana University in 1989 and was a former manager of nightly custodians for dormitories at the same university.
In 1997, John moved to Kauai where he worked at Kauai Economic Opportunity, Workforce Development, Raytheon Solypsis, Bayada Home Health Care, and also opened his own printing business in Lihue. He loved the outdoors and was an avid photographer, owning Morning Star Crescent Moon digital imaging. He loved all animals especially his cats! He rode motorcycles with a club on Kauai as well as belonging to the Mormon Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer M. Crawford and wife, Lauren of Pagosa Springs, CO; a son John M. Owens of Bloomington, IN; a sister Jami Ryan of Heltonville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His children will hold a memorial service in his honor December 31, 2015 on Kauai to take their father back to his true home and scatter his ashes.
Emi Shaefer
Emi Doi Shaefer of Kalaheo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on January 3, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born in Kalaheo, Kauai on February 18, 1924. She was a store clerk at Doi Store (family ran business) and later at Tanaka Plumbing before retiring.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Philip Shaefer of 70 years and her parents Raisuke and Kikuya Doi. Also preceded in death is brothers Toshio, Kenji, Isami and Raiso Doi and sisters, Asako Yamada, Shegako Kawakami, Yoshiko Matsumoto and Shizuko Tanaka.
She is survived by son Jace (Marilyn) Schaefer of Kauai and daughter Geraldine Tom (Herbert) of Oahu. She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of her life will be held at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery on February 7, 2015 were she will rejoin her husband John. Family requests no flowers and no koden.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd. and Veterans Affairs.
Laura Silva
Laura C. Silva of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away on January 16, 2015 at her home in Kalaheo at the age of 93. Born on September 6, 1921 in Kalaheo, Kauai, She was a Homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Antone S. Silva and her two sons Russell A Silva & Jeffery J. Silva.
She is survived by her daughters, Audrey Silva (Gene Mendes), Laureen (Howard) Ranis; Son: Randy (Nani) Silva; Daughter-in-law: Adele Silva, Brother: Walter Caldeira, 9 Grandchildren,
21 Great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 31, 2015, Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Church Cemetery in Kalaheo.

Vincent Peneyra
Vincent Peneyra of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on October 29, 2014 at the age of 43. Born on January 18, 1971 on Oahu, he was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pedro Peneyra; grandfather, Calvin Broyard Sr., Uncle, Charles Peneyra and Uncle, David Peneyra.
He is survived by his wife, Mindy Peneyra; daughter, Nohelani Abella; mother, Charmaine Moises; father, Douglas Moises; father, Alex Peneyra; sister, Angeli Peneyra; sister, Morgan Lopez; sister, Muriah Moises; brother, Shaydon Moises; nephew, Grayling Peneyra; grandmother, Concepcion Broyard; grandmother, Lapaz Peneyra, numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Lihue Lutheran Church, 4602 Hoomana Rd., Service will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Betty McCrahon
Betty Mae McCrahon passed away on January 15, 2015 at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 91. Born on January 25, 1923, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was a professor at West Valley College in California.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Mott McCrahon and Edward H. McCrahon; and sister, Lorraine Baker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Penny Linnerooth of Princeville and Tana Ball (Steven) of California; three grandchildren, Warren Linnerooth (Nora), Marie Zook (Glen) and Sarah Hoenig (Dave); five great-grandchildren, Brian Zook, Melissa Zook, Joshua Zook, Jack Linnerooth and Marc Linnerooth; two nephews, John Baker and Jim Baker (Sherry); and eight grand nieces and nephews, Amanda Smith (Nathan), Samuel Baker, William Baker, Amber Baker, Micheal Baker, Dominic Smith, Elizabeth Smith, and Abigail Smith.
A celebration of Betty’s life was held on January 25, 2015 at Kalihiwai Ridge.
