LIHUE — Dan Nanbu, general sales manager of Servco Subaru Kauai, said it was a team effort that allowed the Kauai Humane Society to receive a check for $5,000 as part of the “Share the Love” sales event Thursday.
“Everyone had a hand in making this successful,” Nanbu said while presenting the award to Penny Cistaro, executive director of the Kauai Humane Society.
KHS was one of the six nonprofits to benefit from the “Share the Love” campaign, which donated $250 for each new vehicle sold by Subaru Hawaii dealers from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.
The campaign donated $35,000 across the state to the nonprofits, including the Hawaii Wildlife Fund, Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii and the Hawaiian Humane Society.
“We are thrilled that Subaru has come to Kauai so we can have the opportunity to work with Subaru and be a part of the ‘Share the Love’ program,” Cistaro said. “We have encouraged people to participate because Subaru is a company which demonstrates their commitment to the community they work in by giving back to it through helping their respective local nonprofits.”
