Coach Orlando “O” Anaya was getting chicken-skin with the weather front which passed through Kauai Friday. The storm didn’t stop the farmers from the sunshine market (Terry Phillips was trying to figure out the dinner menu), nor its loyal customers who braved the weather at Vidinha Stadium.
But the wind and rain took its toll on the Seabury Hall basketball game in Waimea where Coach Basilio “Bunga” Fuertes is trying to figure out how to get about a hundred free bulb onion seedlings (about 50 in each bundle) out to people in the Lihue area.
Was nice to see everyone at soccer (kudos to Island School athletic director Kaipo Kealalio for the tents and shade, and over at Vidinha Stadium, Edmund Villanueva said he had other places to go so will wait until Wednesday’s game. Coach Dino Pabre was doing ticket sales and Wendy Tannery was on gate duty.
A reminder that the free Go For Broke exhibit opens today at the Kauai Veterans Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Go visit with Byrnes Yamashita before he goes home.
