Walter Palmeira
Walter “Wally” Seaman Palmeira of Wailua Homesteads passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Dec. 15, 2014, at the age of 81. He was born in Kilauea, Kauai on Feb. 18, 1933. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard and was a long time Hawaiian music entertainer at numerous venues and most recently at the Hukilau.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Daisy Borges Palmeira and brother, Antone Palmeira.
He is survived by his lifelong partner and loving wife, Nardeen “Polei” Palmeira; three daughters, Cynthia “Cyndy” (Allen) Racca, Waldeen Palmeira, Darleen Palmeira; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jimmy (Belle) Palmeira, Ernest (Josephine Ornellas) Palmeira; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at St. Catherine Church in Kapahi with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Palmeira family with arrangements.
Francis Kaya
Francis K. Kaya passed away on Dec. 13, 2014, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 73. Born on May 28, 1941, in Wailuku, Maui, he was a mechanic with the State of Hawaii.
Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara S. Kaya, and parents, Jitsuji and Agnes Kaya.
He is survived by his son, Kalen Kaya of Lawai; daughter, Tracey (Ric) Ochoco of Lawai; six grandchildren, David Ochoco, Courtney Ochoco, Keenan Kaya, Crysten-Kaori “Ori” Kaya, Thaine Ochoco, and Kestle-Lynn “Noe” Kaya ; three brothers, Dennis Kaya, Richard (Muriel) Kaya, and Robert (Eleanor) Kaya, all of Oahu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family for a celebration of life on Jan. 3, 2015, at the Kalaheo Missionary Church from 9 a.m. to 10am. Services to begin at 10 a.m. with lunch to follow. Family suggests casual attire and are open to flowers.

Josephine Refamonte
Josephine “Togo” Refamonte of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Dec. 5, 2014, at the age of 71. She was born on March 19, 1943, in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. She worked as a pantry worker in the hospitality industry at Kauai Surf, Sheraton Coconut Beach Hotel, and La Cascata, Princeville Resort.
She was preceded in death by her parents Zacarias and Muriel Rojas, brothers Charles Rojas and Patricio “Sonny” Rojas, sisters Ruthie Surveyor and Loretta Lum.
She is survived by her husband Tomas Refamonte, daughters Terrece “Humpy” Refamonte, Tonia “Titi” Refamonte, Taneil (Levi) Hirokane, sons Todd “Rocky” (Ade) Refamonte, Tomme Joe (Melissa) Refamonte, Troy (Keani) Refamonte, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Flora Camalliri, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Dec. 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lydgate Beach Park Main Pavilion. Her family requests casual attire.
Louise Tamura
Louise Keiko Tamura, 57, of Kenmore, Washington, passed away on Sept. 22, 2014. Born in Lihue on Sept. 17, 1957, she was retired from the retail and baking industries.
Preceded in death by her father, Dr. Royce Y. Fujimoto Sr.,
She is survived by her husband, Mark; sons Kalani and Kaipo, all of Washington; mother Tatsuko; brothers Lloyd and Royce Jr., all of Kauai; and nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Harold Naumu
Harold “Hal” Wallace Naumu of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Nov. 19, 2014, at the age of 59. Born on Jan. 2, 1955, in Lihue, Kauai, he worked in the hospitality industry.
Preceded in death by his father, Harold Aukai Naumu and brother-in-law, Anthony Balocan.
He is survived by his mother Amy Shinagawa Naumu of Lihue; sisters Doreen (Chris) Tamura of Kapaa; Laureen Naumu-Balocan of Koloa; brother Robb Naumu of Lihue; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Visitation from 10:30 a.m., services at 11 a.m.

Geraldine Kauai
Geraldine Bukoski Kauai of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Dec. 14, 2014, at the age of 68. Born on Oct. 26, 1946, in Waimea, Kauai she was sole proprietor for Butterflies Too and worked at Love’s Bakery.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Violet Bukoski and brother Gerald Bukoski.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Hughes) Ebinger of Lynnwood, WA and son David (Yvette) Kauai Jr. of Kapahi. Grandchildren: Siana and Srisa Ebinger, Kyra and Kelly Kauai, great-grandson Reagan Ebinger, sisters: Priscilla Bukoski of Omao and Yvonne (Stephen) Ruiz of Kalaheo, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Koloa, Hawaii on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2014. Visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m, Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Brooklyn Vallon
Brooklyn Alexandra Vallon of Kekaha passed away on Dec. 16, 2014, at the age of 39. She was born in California on Nov. 20, 1975, was an artist and floral designer.
She is survived by her daughter Victoria Vallon-Kinkki of Kekaha, Love and Light; mother, Lauren McLemore; father, Peter Louis Vallon; four siblings, Gerald McLemore, Jacob McLemore, Afton McLemore, Julie Nickerson all of California; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
