John Reyes
John Kiama Reyes of Anahola, Kauai passed away on Nov. 25, 2014, at the age of 82. Born on April 7, 1932, in Hanalei, Kauai. He was a landscaper and a fisherman. He served in the U.S.M.C.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Lurline Reyes; brothers, William, Joseph, James and Abraham Reyes; wives, Martha Alapai and Sheila Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Reyes, daughters, Lynette ( Bob) Chase, Nadine (Blondie) Woodward, Natalie “Babe” (Kalani) Kaiminaauao, Cheryl (Larry) Corneal, sons, Alan Reyes
John (Liz) Reyes, step sons, Lance (Linda) Hermann, Steven Hermann, 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, sister, Henrietta Napolis, Helen (Lou) Ellegard, brother, Solomon (Sandy) Reyes, Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may meet with the family on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Kauai Veterans Center, Lihue.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m., Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.

Allan Wada
Allan Misao Wada, age 53 of Wirtz passed away on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014. Allan was a sports enthusiast, carpenter, great cook and avid cock fighter.
He is survived by his parents, David and Ruby Atkins of Wirtz; three children, Crislan Wada, Daralan Wada, and Allan Edmond Stone all of Hawaii; brothers, James, Dennis, Randall, Mark, Michael and Jojit Wada all of Hawaii, Dominic Wada of Kuwait, and Jefferson Wada of Wirtz; sisters, Patricia (Ron) McBride of Iowa, Jacqueline (Dan) Macugay of Hawaii; aunts, Emma Peralta, Barbara Corpuz and Mae Bueno all of Hawaii; uncle, Carl (Kalani) Agayan of Hawaii.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 55 Highland Avenue, Rocky Mount.
Arrangements are being handled by Flora Funeral Service, Inc. and Cremation Center.
Esperanza Funtanilla
Esperanza Cabacungan Funtanilla known by everyone as Pacing, died with her family by her side at home on Dec. 8, 2014, in Torrance, CA. at the age of 99. She retired from Olokele Sugar Company as a landscape helper after 15 years.
Esperanza is preceded in death by her husband, Basilio Blanza Funtanilla and great-grandson Cayd Fujimoto.
She is survived by her sister Socorro (Abundio) Munoz (Hayward, CA), three children, Antonia Fontanilla (Torrance, CA), Peggy (Leland) Sun (Burbank, CA) and son Franklin (Stephanie) Funtanilla (Eleele, HI). Seven grandchildren, Craig (Rachelle Lorenzo) Fujimoto, Anson Fujimoto, Mason Fujimoto, Liana Sun, Branden Sun, Sara Funtanilla and Isaac Funtanilla. Five great-grandchildren, Gavin Fujimoto, Cyrus Fujimoto, Chloe Fujimoto, Kolten Fujimoto and Rylie Fujimoto, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. A celebration of her life on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at 8:30am with viewing at Eleele Sacred Hearts Mission. Mass at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens, Lihue. Her family requests casual attire.

Jonathan Renti Cruz
Jonathan Renti Cruz of Kekaha, passed away on Dec. 6, 2014, at the age of 56. Born on February 22, 1958, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a housekeeping supervisor with Macys.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Prudencio Renti Cruz Sr. and Magdalena Renti Cruz; and two brothers, Felix Renti Cruz and Jeffrey Renti Cruz.
He survived by his wife, Noelle Renti Cruz; three daughters, Jonelle Renti Cruz of Kekaha, Marleah Renti Cruz of Kekaha, Sharnelle Renti Cruz of Kekaha; brother, Prudencio (Helene) Renti Cruz Jr. of Oahu; and four sisters, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Jimmy Sr.) Duvauchelle of Molokai, Darolyn Flores of Nevada, Geneoeva “Genny” Renti Cruz of Kekaha, and Cristita Alegria of Guam.
Friends may visit with the family for a celebration of life on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha officiated by Father Arnel Soriano. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. with services to follow right after. Family suggest casual attire and to omit flowers and wreaths.

Judy Beane
Judy Christensen Beane of Koloa, Kauai, died on Sept. 7, 2014, at home at the age of 67. Born on March 15, 1947, in Los Angeles CA, she was an Assistant Television Producer, a realtor, and creative entrepreneur.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Beane, step-daughters, Tanya Stott and Amanda Beane, sister, Mary Jo Shartsis and brother-in-law, Arthur Shartsis of Piedmont, CA, and nephews, Matthew Shartsis of Oakland, Alexander Shartsis of Piedmont, CA, and Benjamin Shartsis of New York City.
Join us for a Celebration of Life on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Poipu Beach Main Pavilion for our Beloved Judy Beane.

Rosita Yadao
Rosita Daligcon Yadao, born to Dionicio and Maria Daligcon on May 3, 1928, in Makaweli, Kauai, Hawaii, died on Dec. 14, 2014, at KVMH at the age of 86.
She is preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Mariano Daligcon, Gregorio Daligcon, Luciano Daligcon, Isidro Daligcon; and two sisters, Saturnina Andres and Florentina Manuel.
She is survived by her two sons, Joven (Colleen) Bautista of Hanapepe, Jaime (Lovelyn) Yadao of Ele’ele; two daughters Julita (Alfonso) Mendoza of Kekaha, Judy (Nirun Ruanjai) Yadao of Kekaha; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Holy Cross in Kalaheo. Family viewing at 8:30 a.m. and public viewing at 9 a.m. and mass to follow at 10 a.m. Family suggests casual attire and are open to flowers.

Cresencia Soriano
Cresencia Butac Soriano of Hanamaulu, Kauai Passed away at home on Dec. 12, 2014, at the age of 81. Born on February 8, 1933, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a Retired Laborer for Monsanto Corn Company.
Survived by her 3) Sons: Admir (Mary) Soriano, Marino (Edralin) Soriano, Eddie (Roselyn) Soriano; 6) Daughters: Winifreda (Dino) Valdez, Erlita Sariano, Amarilyn (Orlando) De Leon, Magdalena (Dado) Echavez, Lorna (Victor) Subia, Melanie (Edison) Gaboy, 10) Grandchildren and 4) Greatgrand-children, 2) Sisters: Ursula Doles, Generosa Sagucio, 1) Brother: Ramon Butac.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at St. Catherines Church in Kapaa from 8 to 9:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Catherines Church Cemetery in Kealia.

Hanako Ishida
Hanako “Hana” Miyoshi Ishida, 89, passed away on Dec. 6, 2014, at Samuel Mahelona Hospital. She was born on Jan. 13, 1925, in Kapaa. She retired from Kapaa High and Elementary School after twenty nine years as a baker. Upon her retirement, she loved tending to her orchids, anthuriums and watching Korean Dramas.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Ishida Sr., daughter: Charlene Quinones of Kapaa, sons: Clarence Ishida Jr., (Jan) of Kapaa, and Clyde Ishida of Kapaa, and her beloved pet, Mindi Savannah. Seven grandchildren, Brett Ishida of Kapaa, Shelley (Daryl) Thomas of Mililani, Chad Ishida of Lihue, Kenji Quinones of Waipio, Nichole (Kenric) Shintaku of Honolulu, Emily (Frank, Jr.) Medeiros of Kapaa and Timothy Ishida of Honolulu, and nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death were her parents, Kurakichi and Natsu Miyoshi, brothers: Charles and Lawrence “Jiro” Miyoshi, sisters: May Fujii and Doris Hirayama, Daughter in Law Mary Ishida and son in law Mitchell Quinones.
Private services were held. Family request no koden.

Carl Lanning
Carl “Carlito” Lanning of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii Passed away on Dec. 10, 2014, at the age of 80. Born on Oahu on May 29, 1934, He was a fisherman.
He is survived by his sister, Carrie Carvalho and Numerous siblings.
A private celebration of life was held.

Elizabeth Ho’omanawanui
Elizabeth “Girlie” Kalani Kauliakamoa Keli’i Ho’omanawanui, 82, of Hilo, HI, died at home on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. Born in Kilauea, Kauai, HI. She was a retired crossing guard at the Chiefess Kapiolani School and self-employed Groundskeeper at the Hilo Shopping Center. She was also a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kilauea Ward, its Relief Society, and the Lanakila Church of Kainaliu-Kona. Elizabeth was also associated with the Kuhio Chapel of Keaukaha, Ola’a 1st Hawaiian Congregational Church, and the Puna Ka’u Council Choir.
Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m., for a Visitation. Friends may also call at the Ponahawai Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 8 to 10 a.m., where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., followed by burial at the Homelani Memorial Park. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.
