Laurie Ho and Bill Spitz were going crazy Saturday, starting out with the Holiday Market and Craft Fair at Kauai Community College (Karin Panui of Mailelani’s said it was a great way to end the season before Christmas), before tooling over to the Kauai Coffee Company open house.
Kudos to Wayne Katayama, Darla Domingo, and all those Kauai Coffee Co. workers who took a break from harvesting to host the great community event where cousins Jaylee Barba-Simpliciano and Cairee Pancho Barba, both 4 months old (by three weeks) were celebrating their first Christmas.
Salvation Army Maj. Mario Reyes and Cadet Helen Reyes were on hand to accept a $2,000 check from Ron Miller of the Hukilau Lanai, representing the winnings of the Celebrity Chefs Challenge for Charity, which was held during the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair.
Kudos, too, to Chef Mark Oyama and the KCC culinary arts program on the ono demos.
