Storybook Theatre recently received $5,500 in grants for its programs.
A $4,000 grant from the Annie Sinclair Knudsen Memorial Fund will help support many programs that Storybook Theatre brings to the children of Kauai, like the educational inflatable whale tour and the Read Across Kauai Day literacy event that brings local authors into schools and supplies books to Kauai’s keiki.
The David S. Boynton Educational Grant awarded Storybook Theatre $1,500 to fund an art camp in Kokee, where children will learn not only about the use of color and different media from local artist Mary Nakamura, but also about the natural history, flora and fauna of the forest in Kokee.
“We appreciate receiving continued support from these generous island-based foundations, because it enables us to support our community of young people and families here on Kauai, through the programs that we offer,” said Storybook Executive Director Mark Jeffers.
