Kudos to Dan Cruces and Diane Rubio on the debut of their “Local Chicks” on Friday at the Kauai Museum Christmas craft fair where even Patrick Ching came over the bridge to visit. The hand-painted chicks fashioned from a mold inspired by a Kalapaki Beach bird stopped a lot of traffic as people took second looks.
Maryanne Kusaka was helping the Daughters of Hawaii and Kanoe Ahuna said she wanted to do the Daughters dress, but had to settle for taking care of the moku table (Jean Souza did her bit to support the moku program).
Eugene Jimenez (he missed doing the Thanksgiving turkey thing this year) was helping Shirley Vidinha at the Salvation Army red kettle (Suzy Fiorito dumped all her lunch change in the kettle) while Ed Kanoi did his live broadcast for Hawaii Media (the Watamull Plaza parking lot makes a great stage on the first Friday of December), and even Peggy Lake (isn’t instant communication great?) came over to do some shopping.
