LIHUE — Kauai Economic Opportunity, Inc. is eligible to receive a $20,000 grant from Walmart.
It just needs votes of support.
Running through Dec. 12, residents can visit Walmart’s Food Pantry Holiday Makeover campaign at walmart.com/holidaymakeover and vote for the food pantry to receive a portion of the $1.5 million fund.
The 75 food banks with the most votes will each receive $20,000 to purchase the equipment they need to prepare, store and transport food to families in need. In addition, one food pantry will be selected to receive a free consultation from DIY Network host James Young, who will give advice on best ways to utilize the grant funds.
