LIHUE — Major Mario Reyes of the Salvation Army invites the community to the 52nd annual Thanksgiving luncheon that will be served at two locations today.
The Lihue luncheon will start at 10 a.m. at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall and run through noon. In Hanapepe, the Salvation Army, Hanapepe Corps will open its doors at 10:30 a.m.
“We expect to serve between 800 to 1,000 people at the Lihue site,” said Salvation Army Cadet Helen Reyes.
Volunteers descended on the Lihue Corps’ kitchen Tuesday to prepare 35 turkeys roasted by the culinary staff at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa’s culinary staff prepared 14 turkeys with rice, stuffing, and gravy for the Hanapepe Corps.
