The Old Town Kapaa Turkey Trot presented by Work It Out is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day at Kapaa Beach Park. The informal 5K or 10K fun run, walk or bike ride is free.
Participants can run out on Ke Ala Hele Makalae as far as they like, then turn around and head for the finish. They are encouraged to bring nonperishable food to donate to Hale Hoomalu or donate money to Kauai Path.
Last year, about 300 people participated in the annual event, with some wearing costumes and turkey-themed outfits.
