Kit Mattingly
Kit Davis Mattingly from Princeville passed away at Regency at Puakea on November 16, 2014, at the age of 64. Born in Palo Alto, California on June 11, 1950, and retired as a carpenter and independent contractor for the United States Department on Defense special weapons agency and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Mattingly and grandson Jesse Mattingly of California.
A celebration of his life will be held today, November 20th at Puakea Golf Course beginning at noon.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Mattingly family with arrangements.
Helen MacKay
Helen Akiko MacKay, formerly of Kailua, Oahu died on October 29, 2014 at Garden Isle Health Care at the age of 89. Born on December 9, 1924, in Lihue, Kauai, she was a retired school teacher with the Department of Education.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald MacKay; seven brothers, Masao, Clarence, Katsuto, Tadashi, Itsuo, Albert and George Uyematsu; three sisters, Kinue Seshiki, Matsue Nakaya and Alice Inomoto.
She is survived by one sister, Dora Kurasaki of Los Altos, California and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held on November 24, 2014 at the Hawaii State Veteran’s Cemetery on Oahu with a dual inurnment for Helen Akiko and the late husband, Donald Augustus MacKay.
