Carol Medeiros
Carol Ann Medeiros, 75, passed away at her home in Lihue on November 5, 2014. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Dearborn, Michigan. As the owner of CALM, Inc. in Lihue, she prepared individual and small business tax returns for nearly 40 years.
Mrs. Medeiros is predeceased by her beloved husband, Patrick E. Medeiros and her parents, John Edward and Frances Elizabeth Nettenstrom.
Mrs. Medeiros is survived by her five daughters: Lori (Elpidio “Tony”) Cardenas of Lawai, Laura (Dave) Cristobal-Andersland of Kalaheo, Teri (Chad) Cataluna of Lihue, Ranae (Edward) Vicoy of Wailua, and Julie (Darren) Nygaard of Colorado, thirteen grandchildren: Michael (Achel) Cardenas, John Cardenas, Sean (Jessika) Cristobal, Nicole (Nelson) Cristobal, Nathan (Zenda) Ragragola, Chelane Weaver, Shaston (Deja) Oshiro, Shaidon (Justyce) Oshiro, Randy Vicoy, Eliza (Junior) Vicoy, Jenna (Ben) Vicoy, Charmonieux (John) Figueroa and Dominica Nygaard, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald W. Nettenstrom, of St. Louis, Missouri, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 22, 2014. Services will begin at 2:00 pm with internment to follow.
The family requests that flower arrangements be omitted, but lei are welcome. Aloha attire is suggested.
Christopher Paden
Christopher “Chris” Paden of Koloa, Kauai passed away on November 8, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 51. Born on August 18, 1963 in Lihue, Kauai he was a Carpet Installer with Harvey’s Flooring.
Preceded in death by his father Constancio Paden.
He is survived by his wife Arceli Paden, 2 daughters: Ashlyne Paden, Ahlyssa (Patrick) Kua, mother Linda Paden, 2 brothers: Cory (Dana) Paden, Carl (Lisa) Paden, 2 step children: Brian Carvalho, Jr., Sheena Carvalho, 8 grandchildren, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday November 22, 2014 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9:00 am to 10:45 am where services will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Koloa.
Chiyeko Yoshii
Chiyeko Yoshii of Moloa’a, passed away on November 1, 2014 at the age of 101. She was born on April 7, 1913 in Anahola.
She is preceded in deaeth by her husband, Matsuo Yoshii; daughters, Yoshiko Nakamura and Sally Dingethal; and son, Lawrence Yoshii.
She is suvived by her sons, Stanley (Kuija) Yoshii of California and Dick (Linda) Yoshii of Moloa’a; Daughters, Shirley (Larry) Senaha of Las Vegas and Rachel LeDuc of Moloa’a; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Kapaa Jodo Mission with visitation at 10 a.m. and services to follow at 11 a.m. The family is requesting that donations be made to Kapaa Jodo Mission and to please omit flowers.

Claron Nakamatsu
Claron Nakamatsu of Kapaa, Kauai peacefully passed away on November 5, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving wife and son at his side at the age of 64. Born on March 4, 1950 in Lihue, Kauai he was retired from Aloha Airlines and recently retired from the United States Department of Agriculture at the Lihue Airport.
Preceded in death by his son Liloa, he is survived by his wife of 37 years Terri and his son Kahai.
He is also survived by his parents Yasu and Sue Nakamatsu, siblings Sheilah Miyake and Baron Nakamatsu, father and mother-in-law Clarence and Lydia Ludin, sister-in-law Pat Autele, brother-in-law Joel Ludin, and his two nieces, Michelle and Hayli.
A celebration of his life will be held at Breath of Life Christian Ministries in Lihue on Saturday November 22, 2014. Visit with the family from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with services to follow.
Tranquilina Escober
Tranquilina “Elena” Domagco Escober of Hanamaulu passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on November 8, 2014, at the age of 88. She was born in Gogon, Priete-Diaz, Sorsogon, Philippines on July 6, 1926, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Preceded in death by her husband, Adolfo Escober and daughter, Adelina Paet.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Larry Paet; caregivers, Ceferina Cordova, Lydia Rebugio and Fort Rebugio; brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in the Philippines.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation at 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
