HANALEI — Four people were unharmed following a single-vehicle crash into the Hanalei River Saturday.
At approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a sedan that flipped off Kuhio Highway near mile marker 4 in Hanalei and into the river mouth below.
The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene, which was located near a one-lane bridge.
To accommodate the vehicle recovery, the highway was closed from 6 p.m. to roughly 7:30 p.m.
The female driver, her adult male passenger and two young children were able to exit the vehicle without injuries.
