LIHUE — Public input is wanted on future designs for Rice Street.
Activities including a walk down Rice Street with Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. and county leaders on Nov. 17.
The Rice Street Walk starts at 4:30 p.m. from the Lihue Civic Center rotunda in the Moikeha Building and will cover Rice Street from the Haleko Road intersection through the Hardy Street intersection.
From there, leaders will meet at the Kauai Beer Company, where Rice Street Concept Plans will be unveiled.
Another walk will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Nov. 18 and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19 starting at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Walkers are encouraged to wear bright clothing.
The Rice Street Concept plans will also be available to the public at Ha Coffee Bar from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Nov. 19 and the Lihue Civic Center Planning Commission Room in the Moikeha Building from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20.
The plans will be available for viewing from Nov. 18 through Dec. 5 at the Ha Coffee Bar, the Kauai Beer Company, the Lihue Civic Center in the Kapule Building lobby, and at the Lihue Public Library during normal operating hours.
