Wanda Kau-Shibata, the governor’s liaison, picked up a whole bunch of breads (mahalo for the lychee bread!) to take to Oahu. Christina Trugillo had the same idea, wiping out a lot of Dolly Kikuchi’s stock, and Derek Kawakami came just a little too late for the food stuffs.
Yolanda Rivera of the Kilauea Senior Center said they had to wake up early to make it to Lihue, and Basilio “Bunga” Fuertes missed this one because he’s on the Mainland for a reunion.
Ruthie Omoto was busy at the Chiefess Kamakahelei TV fundraising fair (that Don Gusman corn was ono!) reminding people the cookie pickup and rummage sale is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday to benefit the CKMS band under the direction of Sarah Tochiki (anyone seen her Kauai High School homecoming masterpiece?).
