Shuttle service not a traffic solution
TGI front page story on Oct. 15, 20014, “New Shuttle Service.”
Can’t see how this is going to relieve our traffic problem when this service will only run on the north side of the island.
Someone who is in that picture that accompanied the article must be loco to think that will relieve traffic.

More on police citations, speed traps
I am writing regarding the letter (TGI, Oct. 11) from Roy Asher, assistant chief, Kauai Police Department.
He stated that officers drive a marked vehicle. Not always true. I received a speeding citation from Kauai police officer driving a black patrol car with no light bar with blue lights on the sunvisors.
Also, I have witnessed an officer in a black patrol car, possibly the same one writing citations many times in prior years. I talked to a friend who is a Kauai police officer and he said “Oh ya, that guy writes about 200 citations per month.” At $100 minimum, that’s $20,000/month. I think that’s excessive.
Also, I have witnessed what I think have to be speed traps in many locations on Kauai.
I’m not complaining about the citation I received. I deserved it. The officer followed me and clocked me.
