Congratulations to Deanna Sloger who was crowned the 2014 Miss Kauai Veteran Wednesday.
Deanna will be featured during the annual Kauai Veterans Day parade (deadline for float applications is today) starting at 10 a.m. Nov. 8 in Kapaa.
Deanna’s dad Thom (he’s a coach for the Island School air riflery team) said she was able to shoot in the first relay at Kapaa and still have time to go home, change, and make the coronation officiated by Charlene Dorsey (mahalo to Aida Cruz for allowing the Purple Heart Room to be used for interviews).
Ed Kawamura was late to the meeting because he said everyone is coming in for storm (is Tropical Storm Ana on track to hit Kauai?) stuff.
Mahalo to Alton Amimoto and the Judiciary staff on moving all those media types during the sentencing for James Pflueger on Wednesday … even got to see Coach Gary Saiki and Judge Greg Meyers.
