John McClure of Moloaa Bay Coffee said people can experience Carmen Durney’s Waiiti Soaps and Botanicals’ offerings (the hala essence is indescribable) for the next two weeks at the Kauai Community Market, Saturdays at the Kauai Community College.
Sushi Sandy (Sandy Kato-Klutke) is taking a two-week break so Carmen gets to share the Moloaa Bay space.
Melissa McFerrin said the Kauai Community Market is celebrating its fifth anniversary (Daphne McClure said she remembers sitting next to Hannah Huang during the first meeting, and Kelly Gooding said he remembers telling Liz Ronaldson to just do it).
In the five years of growth, shoppers could experience freshly-pressed sugar cane juice prepared by Weerawat and Wirat Yothachai and Rowin Moritsugu. That was a new item Saturday from sugar cane grown on the Yothachai farm (they’re still there, the table being manned by Khompan Jiraporn and Janmee Yothachai).
Check them out, Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kauai Community College.
