Kudos to Marilyn Luis and her Kmart crew on hosting the Safety Day event Saturday to coincide with October being National Safety Month. Jim Jung asked why there aren’t that many children pirate movies, answering because they are “Aaarrrgh!” rated.

Jim Jung asked why there aren’t that many children pirate movies, answering because they are “Aaarrrgh!” rated. Cody Bonilla couldn’t get to the football game (missed out watching Coach Mel Purcell in action) since Tito Villanueva left the event early to cover the game for American Medical Response.
Jim said Dr. Monty Downs also left the event early to do team doctor duties for Kapaa High School.
Kudos to the East Kauai Lions Club for joining with Tommy Noyes (save Oct. 25 for Make A Difference Day at Lydgate Park!) and Dr. Randy Blake on the hands-on bicycle safety clinic. And, who got to practice the first aid in real time?
Larry Richardson of the Sea Scouts (he had some of his heroes on hand, too) said they are getting close to launching a Westside program, and he’s got his fingers crossed.
