A man was arrested Thursday morning following a family abuse call in Waipouli.
County spokeswoman Sarah Blane said police responded about 9:30 a.m. to the Basuel apartment complex across the highway from L&L Drive Inn.
“Upon officers’ arrival to the scene, the 21-year-old male subject involved in the incident resisted arrest,” she wrote in an email. “Personnel from KPD’s Special Services Team along with crisis negotiators were called in to assist and were eventually able to detain the male subject without injury.”
The man was arrested for family abuse about 12:40 p.m. He has not yet been formally charged.
