Andrea Abalos and Simplicia Tugade were busy Sunday taking care of the families and friends of the 100th Battalion at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.
Andrea said in addition to the annual memorial service, they have been busy as contractors are working on a new stone wall and a storage building. Once that’s done, work on the pavilion begins.
Soupbone Kashiwabara was happy the Army National Guard from the Hanapepe Armory could come over and do 21-gun salute honors since the Kauai Veterans Honor Guard had three funerals on Saturday, including the one for Jack Hada, and only had three members available Sunday.
Kudos to Ken Morikawa and all the Sons and Daughters (Judge Trudy Senda got me one of those shirts) on a great service, and mahalo to Johnette Chun on helping get everything together.
OK, time to go visit Eric Nordmeier and the WorkWise Job Fair at the convention hall.
