Cora Murayama edged out Kim Medeiros by four points to close out the final Kauai All Girl Rodeo Association event for 2014 on Sunday at the CJM Country Stables in Poipu.
Medeiros, a consistent top finisher in the Goat Tying event, picked up a win and Fast Time honors in the event as well as runner-up honors in the 2nd D of the 3D Pole Bending event atop Ani in her challenge.
Murayama edged out Kim Medeiros in the 2nd D of the 3D Pole Bending on a 21.264 seconds over Medeiros’ 22.069 go, and topped the Breakaway Roping event on a 12.90 go.
Adding to her top finishes, Murayama finished fourth (19.007) in the 1st D of the 3D Barrel Racing event, a mere .05 second ahead of Coryssa Silva who stopped the clock at 19:012.
A similar situation unfolded in the Goat Tying, where Murayama edged out Silva 28.551 to 28.794.
Murayama finished fourth in the Steer Undecorating with a 9.43 average, but captured Fast Time honors on a 2.13 go in the event.
In the Dally Team Roping, Murayama teamed with Kim Medeiros to top the event with a 33.59 average.
Murayama copped All Around Cowgirl honors with 42 points to Kim Medeiros’ 38 points.
