LIHUE — Kauai residents are invited to attend community meetings to ask questions and address concerns with the Kauai Fire Department.
People who attend and cannot attend are also invited to complete a brief public survey to share opinions about the services of the KFD. The survey is part of an internal and external assessment of the department, and will be used in the preparation of a four-year strategic plan.
The opinions will assist KFD with identifying strengths, key issues, opportunities and challenges. The replies will be used in formulating appropriate goals and strategies in the new strategic plan for the next four years
The survey is available online at www.KauaiFireDept.net. It should take no more than five minutes to complete. The deadline to participate is Sept. 15.
Public input meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Kapaa Public Library, Sept. 11 at Koloa Neighborhood Center, Sept. 16 at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center, Sept. 22 at Lihue Public Library, and Sept. 24 at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center.
The assessment phase will be completed by November, while the four-year strategic plan will be done in June 2015.
