Virginia Ellis
Virginia “Ginny” Gillin Ellis of Koloa, Kauai passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on August 22, 2014 at the age of 85. She was born in Koloa, Kauai on March 8, 1929.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert T. and Adena W. Gillin; her husband Leon Theodore (Ted) Ellis; brother Elbert T. Niebergall and grandson Nicholas A. Perencin.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Catherine (Paul) Brucker of California and Cynthia Ellis of Koloa and her twin sister Dorothy G. Shaw of Lihue. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Heather, Danielle, Kara, Michael and Matthew, six great grandsons; Brendan, Damon, Logan, Kailer, Kekoa and Maverick. Loving Auntie to Richard (Joan) Shaw and David (June) Shaw. Ginny was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Kauai Women’s Golf Club.
Gifts in her memory may be sent to The Kauai Humane Society or any charity of personal choice. Per her wishes, private family services will be held at a later date.
Demetrio Dace
Demetrio “Diming” Racca Dace of Puhi passed away at home on August 23, 2014, at the age of 78. He was born on June 21, 1936 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and retired as a Drip Operator with McBryde Sugar Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Macario & Ysidra Dace; sister, Juanita Realista; son, Darrell Dace and granddaughter, Sienna Mae Dumlao.
He is survived by his wife, Trinidad Dace; five daughters, Marylou (Jose) Dumlao, Marlyn Dace, Dial Dace (Billy Celino) all of San Jose, California, Maribelle (Jessie) Semana of Puhi, Tracy (Christopher) Jambaro of Oahu; one son, Rolando (Toni) Dace of Puhi; 9 grandchildren, Brent Dumlao, Jose (Jacklyn) Dumlao Jr., Janna Dumlao, Shannon Semana, Angela Semana, Aubree Jambaro, Kaydee Jambaro, Blake Jambaro, Tyler Dace; 1 great-grandchild, Ryzah Mae; two brothers, Taurino (Gwen) Dace of Washington, Alejandro (Lydia) Dace of California; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Fr. Jerry Somera. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Caridad Dulatre
Caridad “Carrie” Asierto Dulatre passed away on July 31, 2014 at Pali Momi Hospital Aiea, Hawai`i at the age of 84. She was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her husband Mauro C. Dulatre, father Julian Asierto, mother Felisberta A. Asierto, daughter Virginia A. Dulatre, son Alexander A. Dulatre, granddaughter Michelle Noji, grandson Justin Keli`i, sister’s Romana Asierto (Divencio) Estranero, Matilda Asierto (Alfredo) Argiante and Agustina Asierto (Gaspar) Ribultan.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Richard) Henderson of Seattle, Washington, Belma (Alfonso) Mapalo of San Antonio, Texas, Jovenal (Deborah) Dulatre of Kaneohe, Hawai`i, Bernadette (Val) Mapalo of San Antonio, Texas, Mario (Rose) Dulatre of Lihue, Kaua`i, Mary Ann (Alexander) Dulatre of Mililani, Hawai`i, Arturo (Antoinette Perry) Dulatre of Waipahu, Hawai`i, and Elmer Dulatre of Pearl City, Hawai`i, 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 5:30pm at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary in Kaneohe, Hawai`i and Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City, Hawai`i, with burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawai`i.
Filomena Hashitate
Filomena Magdirila Hashitate (aka Fely and Minang) formerly of Honolulu, Lihue and Kekaha passed away at Hale Kupuna in Omao on Saturday August 23, 2014. Born on August 3, 1938 in Honolulu. She was a retired proprietor of Fely’s Barber Shop, Shells of Hawaii, Kauai’s Hidden Treasures and JJ Ohana Gift Shop.
She was preceded in death by parents Domingo and Mary Magdirila, husband Jack Hashitate and sister Dolly Volk. Survived by son Gerald Armitage of Alabama and daughter Gale Sagucio (Bryan Maeda) of Hanapepe, 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 5pm to 9pm Friday September 5, 2014. Services begin at 6 pm at the Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa.
William Curammeng Sr.
William “Bill” L. Curammeng Sr. of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on August 11, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. Born on February 8, 1933 in Koloa, Kauai. He was a Retired teacher at Wilcox Elementary School.
Preceded in death by his parents, Marcos & Ana Curammeng, sister, Leonora Albayalde, brother, Alfredo Curammeng.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Curammeng, sons, William Curammeng Jr. (Tess), Joseph Curammeng, Duane (Janice) Curammeng, Glenn (Lelyn) Curammeng, Darren (Michelle) Curammeng
daughters, Joycelyn (Jason) Iwata, Janice (Dean) Russell, 19 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces & nephews & cousins & friends.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday September 6, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lihue.

Silverio Pegeder Sr.
Silverio Ancheta Pegeder Sr. of Hanamaulu passed away on August 21, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born on July 19, 1924 in Nalvo, Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and retired as a Civil Engineer for Lihue Plantation.
He is preceded in death by his wife Anastacia Ganio Pegeder; uncle, Florencio Fejider.
He is survived by his grandson and caregiver Donovan Pegeder, 5 children, 1 daughter-in-law, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia with visitation from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Fr. Jerry Somera. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens, Casual attired is suggested.

Cheryl Lovell-Obatake
Cheryl Mary Ululani Lovell-Obatake of Nawiliwili, Kauai passed away on August 1, 2014 at the age of 60. Born on March 5, 1954 in Waimea, Kauai. She was a cultural monitor with a love for land, water and culture.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ida Lovell, and brother Leslie Lovell.
She is survived by her husband James Obatake Jr., daughter, Maureen “Kanani” (Albert) Lovell-Obatake, son, Leslie (Brandee) Lovell-Obatake, stepmother, Beverly Manner, sister Puanani Holt, and stepsister Karen Manner. Grandchildren, Keana, Lanakila, Nakoa, Kamalewa, and Maka`ala. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Nawiliwili Beach Park, 4 p.m. The family request casual attire.
Alejandrino Allado
Alejandrino Alegre Allado of Eleele, died on August 22, 2014 at KVMH at the age of 97.
Born on February 07, 1917, in Paoay Philippines, he retired with Olokele Sugar Plantation in 1982 and worked with the Hyatt Regency for 10 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Luis & Faustina Allado; son, Rudy Allado; brothers, Pompeyo Allado & Vevencio Allado; and sisters, Juanuaria Allado, Ludivina Doncel, Felicitas Galeon, and Josefina Allado.
He is survived by his wife Teodora Allado; daughters, Emerlita (Enrique) Esposo of Lawai, Angelyn Allado-Racca (Warren Racca) of Puhi & Grace Allado of Honolulu; grandchildren, Edel (Delia) Esposo of Eleele, Bobby (Annie) Esposo of Lawai, Josie Esposo of Lawai, Edmund (Vida) of Washington, Breanna Vegas, Devin Vegas & Madison Allado-Racca of Puhi; and great-grandchildren, Siegfrid Esposo, Krisha Esposo, Janine Esposo, Maricela Esposo, Erika Esposo, Angel Esposo, Nick Aldren Esposo & Nichole Megan Esposo.

Judy Gayle Dolan of Lihue, Kauai passed away on May 20, 2014 at the age of 74. She was retired.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terri (Jon) Ziolkowski of Princeville, Hawaii and Leisa Hollis of Colorado; Brother, Gary (Joyce) Stone; sister, Jane (Tom) Barnes of Northern California, 3 grandsons and 3 great-grandchildren.
