Lihue Mill Bridge update today
A construction update at the site of the Lihue Mill Bridge, near Kaumualii Highway and Rice Street, will be presented at 1 p.m. Friday.
Jadine Urasaki, Department of Transportation deputy and Ray McCormick, highways district engineer, will share the timing of the opening of Lihue Mill Bridge and explain the new traffic patterns.
Workshops to discuss Hanapepe Road safety
Four workshops will be held next week to discuss transforming Hanapepe Road into a safer street that meets the needs of all users.
The meetings will be at the Hanapepe Congregational Church, 3699 Hanapepe Road, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday; and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
Rescheduled Fair on Saturday
The Garden Isle Artisan Fair, “Under the Big Tent!” will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Kapaa Beach Park.
The fair is free and will offer live Tahitian drumming and shave ice along with handcrafted products from more than 40 of Kauai’s artisans.
