Kudos to Marilyn Matsumoto and all her Lihue Senior Center volunteers (mahalo to Melanie Okamoto for the heads-up) on a great bon dance.
Marilyn said the event was so successful she wants the final Tuesday of July to be designated as the Lihue Senior Center bon dance for those who don’t go to bon dance because they don’t like driving at night or are worried there won’t be any parking.
Wayne Fujioka, president of the Lihue Hongwanji Mission, said the church is hosting its bon dance today and Saturday starting with the food booths opening at 6 p.m. and dancing to start at 7:30 p.m.
Lyndon Yoshioka and his elections crew are hard at work with the absentee voting and walk-in voting (even Eddie Topenio was helping “greet” voters), and everyone else will do voting live next Saturday. Early walk-in voting ends Thursday.
