PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY – A field of 107 runners from all over Kauai covered a 5K course Saturday at the Pacific Missile Range Facility.
The Sunset Run started at Shenanigans restaurant, winding to the south gate and back as the event was open to the general public. Jackie Reding from Kapaa came in first place overall with a time of 21:09, followed by second-place finisher and first in the men’s division, Brian Reynolds, at 21:10. Robert Russell placed third with a 21:48 finish.
“It was great to see more than 100 runners come out, including entire military families and our local Kauai neighbors,” said William Bray, morale, welfare and recreation director. “This was the largest run in quite a while on PMRF and the Fit Crew is already working on the next major event planned around Halloween.”
