Two visiting musical groups will perform at the 13th annual Heiva I Kauai on Aug. 2-3 at the Kapaa Beach Park. Toa Huhina, from Tahiti, will conduct formal Polynesian opening ceremonies followed by performances of dances of the Marquesas Islands.
Two visiting musical groups will perform at the 13th annual Heiva I Kauai on Aug. 2-3 at the Kapaa Beach Park.
Toa Huhina, from Tahiti, will conduct formal Polynesian opening ceremonies followed by performances of dances of the Marquesas Islands.
Te Vai Ura Nui, a popular group from Oahu, will present exhibition numbers in traditional otea and contemporary aparima and ahupurotu dances, music and drumming on both days.
Additionally, more than 40 vendors will offer Tahitian and other Pacific Island crafts, gifts, jewelry, art, woodwork, and clothing. They will be joined by food vendors.
Admission is $6 for each day. Children 6 years and under are admitted free.
