When Scott Johnson blows that steam whistle, people from all over hear it. Kumu Roselle Bailey, Pat Finneberg (Heiva i Kauai coming up Aug. 2-3), and even Jan Tenbruggencate found their way to the former Lihue Sugar Mill employee parking lot.
Scott was running Wainiha for the benefit of the county’s summer fun program, but gave rides to Roselle and Pat as well.
Kudos to Thomas Nizo and his Waimea Theater crew for the hospitality during the West Kauai Professional and Business Association (Brenda Jose even has her last World Conference of Hula shirt, and needs to get this year’s version) on a great two nights of political forum (did James Trujillo figure out to get past the “buffering” on the air?).
Sara Sloan of No Ka Oi might be on vacation, but she’s got a crew working to clear Hapa Trail for the Saturday walk which is part of the Koloa Plantation Days.
