Celebrate the magic of live theatre, as the Hawaii Children’s Theatre’s ‘Summer Stars’ program presents their “Rising Stars Gala Showcase” at 7 tonight at Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center. The fun begins at 5 with food by JC’s Puerto Rican Kitchen, creative student lobby exhibits, fantastic silent auction items and tasty homemade treats. The showcase features hilarious skits, fabulous tap and jazz dances and exciting and heart-warming vocal numbers.
“You’ll be amazed at the enthusiasm and skill of these actors, aged 5-13,” said a press release.
The performance shows what they have been learning throughout the summer, including classes in singing for the stage, tap and jazz dancing, comedic acting, and workshops including improvisation, music theatre, make-up and filmmaking.
Tickets are $8 from students and $10 at the door.
