Happy birthday to Kenneth Cummings and Kenneth Cummings. Both gentlemen of the same name celebrated their special day Sunday during the weigh-in of the SOHLE crab tournament!
Kudos to Dawn Cummings for coordinating the third tournament, and Yolanda “Mama” Olivera was busy getting the pot ready for the community boil for those submissions which were put in the pot.
Kudos, too, to Coach Clarence Sales and the Team Central Basketball ohana on a great Merv Lopes Kauai Hoops Classic tournament! Peter Rayno had his hands full with the Dream Hoops Elite and the Barrow, Alaska team during the semifinals for Division 1. Coach John Kaneholani (he even went to the Kauai High gym) said Roland Hepa, coach for the Barrow team, played for him when he was coaching.
OK, so this weekend is the Little League Majors event at the Main Diamond in Kapaa, and the Kauai Raceway Park opens following a year’s closing for resurfacing and other upgrades.
