June is National Adopt a Cat Month. The Kauai Humane Society is offering an adoption special to celebrate the national campaign: adopt one cat and get a companion cat for half off the adoption fees. The adoption package includes the cat, vaccinations, flea treatment, de-worming, a microchip, collar/tag and spay/neuter surgery.
“Our catteries and kitten room are full of delightful cats and kittens who would love to find new, loving homes,” a press release stated. “During this month, you can take home two new cats for the reduced price of half off for the second companion cat! KHS is offering this special to participate in the national campaign sponsored by the American Humane Association and to encourage local individuals and families to open their hearts and homes to not one, but two new feline companions.”
Cats require exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. Having two cats at home can give this to each other.
