Scattered moderate to heavy showers will continue moving Northwest across souther and leeward sections of Kauai at 10 to 15 mph. This should affect areas from Poipu to Kokee State Park, with the heaviest showers producing one to two inches of rainfall per hour.
This could result in reduced visibility and minor ponding of water on roadways and in low lying spots.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for all low-lying areas of the entire island of Kauai County. It is effective Monday through 1:45 p.m.
At 10:36 a.m. radar showed an area of persistent heavy rains along the windward coast of from near Lihue to Anahola. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary and other areas of concern include Moloaa, Kilauea and Kapaa.
The primary threat is for road and urban flooding. Many areas have reported two inches in the past hour, and Wailua Homestead reported more than three inches.

Hanalei green waste is closed today due to muddy conditions. The site will re-open tomorrow if conditions improve.
Precautionary and preparedness actions include staying away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas that are prone to flooding.
