Benehakaka Kanahele-Kaiwi
Benehakaka Kanahele-Kaiwi II passed away on April 6, 2014 at home at the age of 67. He was born on August 25, 1946 in Pu’uwai, Niihau. An avid fisherman and diver, he loved being outdoors, among friends and laughing with his family. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator, Maintenance Worker for Raytheon at PMRF and a retired Deckhand with Hawaiian Tug and Barge; Inland Boatmen’s Union (IBU).
He is preceded in death by his parents Michael Naluluolehua Kaiwi and Emalia Waiopuna Kaiwi. Brother’s, Kalawelo Kaiwi, Allen Kaiwi; Sisters, Mary Kanahele, Rose Kanahele and Salala Kaiwi.
He is survived by his Sons, Bruce (Stephanie) Kaiwi, Ben Kaiwi; Daughters, Barbara Kaiwi, Benetta Kaiwi; 6 Grandchildren, Ethan Kaiwi, Rigo Ceron-Flores, Bruce Kaiwi Jr., Christina Kaiwi, Solomon Keliihoomalu, Isaiah Keliihoomalu; 3 Brothers, Mike Kaiwi, George Kaiwi, Eugene Kaiwi; 3 Sisters, Emalia Kanahele, Isabella Matayoshi, Myra Silva, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Immediately followed by Memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Casual attire is suggested. Inurnment will be at a later date at Kekeha Cemetery.

Maximiniano Eala
Maximiniano Esperanza Eala of Hanamaulu passed away in Pali Momi Hospital on April 10, 2014, at the age of 76. He was born in Apatot, San Esteban, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on August 15, 1937, and retired as a Groundkeeper with Westin Kauai and Kiahuna Plantation.
Preceded in death by his wife, Pacita and grandson, Ronnel Espejo.
He is survived by four daughters, Connie (Alejandrino) Vidal of Hanamaulu, Natividad (Nestor) Espejo of Maui, Josephine (Chris) Segismundo of California, Gemma (Bill) Copperfield of Maui; one son, Jonald (Rose) Eala of Kapolei; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rojelio (Juanita) Eala of California, Epifanio (Elvira) Eala of California, Lucrecio (Emerita) of Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews.
A wake service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Lolita Cabuco
Lolita Cabuco of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Hawaii passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 2, 2014 at the age of 83. She was born on February 18, 1931 in Penarrubia, Abra, Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her parents: J. Balladeng and Zamora Hilario; Brothers, Vicente and Justo Malangen; Sister Juanita Silayen; Husband, Domingo Cabuco.
She is survived by her only daughter, Eldie (Dickson) Ferrandiz; 5 grandchildren, Cherry Ann Agbilay, Samson (Erah) Agbilay Jr., Cherry Lyn Agbilay (Jeff) Sante, Mark Anthony Ferrandiz and Charissa Mae Atienza; 9 great grandchildren: Brandon Torres, Kayla Torres, Kylie Torres, Sarah Mae Agbilay, Shaylee Agbilay, Myles Mason Agbilay, Cliff Bryan Villanueva, Chris Jhian Sante and Eldonito Markell Ferrandiz; Grand-Niece: Maria “Sol” Dacuyan; Nieces: Conchita (Puleriano)Parinas, Amelia (Johnny) Duarosan and Dominga Dacuyan; Nephews: Renato Malangen, Efren Dumaguing, Ruperto Malangen.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday May 10, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00am and Mass celebrated at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Ronald “Pake” Chun
Ronald “Pake” Chun of Kekaha, passed away on April 5, 2014 at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital at the age of 66. Born on March 22, 1948, in Honolulu, Ron was an Electronic Technician for Exelis Systems Division at Pacific Missile Range for 44 years.
Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Gladys Chun.
Ron is survived by his wife Arlene Chun, (3) daughters Ronda Chun, Crystal (Michael) Shimatsu, and Jamie (Bryan) Fandrich and (1) son Aaron (Jennifer) Chun, (2) sisters Geri (Dennis) Nishihira, Donna (Mike) Noguchi and (2) brothers Randy (Teri) Chun and Gene Chun. (7) Grandchildren: Pulama Nitta, Kona, Tita, Wai Wai, and Leimana Fandrich, Kela Shimatsu, Eddie Chun.
Friends and Family may visit with the family on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Borthwick Maunakea Chapel in OAHU at 9:30am with services to follow at 10:30am.
A visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha, KAUAI at 9:00 with mass to follow at 10:00am. The family suggests casual attire.

Max Anothony Agpaoa of Okinawa, Japan dies April 20, 2014 at US Naval hospital Okinawa, Japan. He was born April 20,2014 at US Naval hospital Okinawa, Japan.
He is preceded in death by sister Amayah N Agpaoa, great great grandparents Flora A Agpaoa, Salvador and Emily Carvalho, Frank and Jane Simao Sr, Joseph Freitas, Michael Bonilla, Jules and Beatrice Nordmeier, Joseph Michael Freitas, Scott (scotty boy) Kaneakua, Tomas (Junjun) Garcia.
He is survived by his parents Ian and Nisa Agpaoa, grandparents Kaulana and Penny Kaneakua, Fredelito and Imelda Agpaoa, Michael (Kristen) Freitas Jr, great grandparents Michael and Diana Carvalho Sr, Filemon and Esperanza Yago, Miachael and Sharon Freitas Sr, Maximo Agpaoa, William and Anita Kaneakua, great great grandparents Francis Freitas and Dorothy Bonilla, Numerous Uncles, Aunts, cousins, extended cousins and Ohana.

Elsie Rita Matias 76 Years of Lawai, Kauai, passed away on April 30, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on December 24, 1937 in Kauai, Hawaii, she was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her three sons: Louis (Kia) Matias, Paul Matias, Jason (Sherry) Matias; Brother : Bobby (Anna) Rita; Sister: Alice Silva; 5) Grandchildren, 2) Great Grandchildren, numeous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday May 9, 2014 at Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 3:00 pm and services will be celebrated at 5:00 pm. Cremation to follow

Earl Edwards
Earl George Edwards of Niumalu, Kauai passed away on April 14, 2013 at home at the age of 73. Born on August 14, 1940, in Beverly Hills, California. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School on Oahu class of 1958. He was an Aeronautical Engineer by trade but his passion was building boats.
He is survived by Jacqueline Jaye Gardner and son Tim Edwards.
He was buried in Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, Washington on April 22, close to his mother and other family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, 2 p.m. at his yard in Niumalu. 2500 Niumalu Road.
