Happy Mother’s Day to Annika Newton who got an early start shopping (she really liked the jerky!), Saturday. Annika’s mom, Aletha Thomas-Newton was celebrating the fourth anniversary of Monkeypod Jam (it only seemed like yesterday that Aletha opened), and she still has those Halloween racks she picked up at Kmart during a post-Halloween clearance (she said she left two behind, but should have gotten them, too).
Sandi Kato-Klutke had the help of Maile and Max since John and Daphne McClure were in Washington for a coffee conference (can’t wait to see what exciting things they discover), and that’ll be perfect because Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said Saturday is the big Kauai Made/Kauai Grown sale in time for Mother’s Day shopping (you can still place those off-island orders for live blooming orchids with Fely Sams of Orchid Alley). And since Saturday is also First Saturday in Kapaa, looks like Neill and Fely are going to be super busy.
