Jonathan Chun said he had never won a prize like the five-night Las Vegas giveaway which was the top prize awarded by First Hawaiian Bank and Mokihana Travel at the Contractors Association of Kauai Home Expo.
Chun was on hand Wednesday with other winners like Kristi Stephens, who will find a use for her Stihl electric blower from Service Rentals and Supplies, and Mary Clough of Koloa who was the recipient of a gorgeous Kalalau panoramic framed in koa veneer from Pictures Plus.
Other winners include Gilbert Sagawa getting the Hawaii Gas propane outdoor wok set (did you see the new “exchangeable” non-metal propane tanks?), and Leonida Briones of Eleele getting the Hitachi cordless driver-drill from HPM Building Supply.
Do you realize the home expo started after Hurricane Iniki as a way for people to be able to see what is available for home repair, remodeling and construction in one place?
Bill Dahle used to emcee the event in the storm-damaged Kauai High School gym.
