Kauai will celebrate the 63rd annual National Day of Prayer observance on Thursday at the Lihue Civic Center Rotunda.
The theme is “One Voice United in Prayer.”
The ceremonies will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the County of Kauai Moikeha Rotunda. Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. will open the ceremony with a proclamation.
Representatives from Hawaiian, Buddhist, Christian, Quaker, Bahai, Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, Eckankar, Brahma Kumari, Happy Science, Science of Mind and others from the diverse faiths on Kauai will share song and prayers for the community, nation and world.
In his proclamation, Carvalho states, “Throughout the County of Kauai we urge all citizens to unite and embrace in prayer, humbly asking the Almighty God, “Ke Akua,” for grace, wisdom, justice, mercy and for world peace.”
The public is welcome.
