LIHUE — Kauai Humane Society’s Blooming Tail’s Thrift Store in Lihue is moving to 3178 Kuhio Highway in the Shell Station complex. It will begin taking donations at its new location Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the store is having a sale at its current location at 3-3310 Kuhio Highway (across from McDonald’s) through May 9, when it will close the doors for good. It has been there more than a decade.
The grand opening of the new store will be Monday, May 12. Operating hours will be the same: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. They are closed on Sundays.
The store’s proceeds support the KHS shelter.
“During this time of transition, we want to take a ‘paws from our moving preparations to say ‘mahalo nui loa’ to all of our donors and store patrons,” said a press release. “It is the continued generosity of our donors and their on-going donations of clothes, household goods, and goodies for animal companions that make our store so wonderful.”
