Two Koloa men were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash in Koloa late Thursday.
According to a Kauai police press release, a Nissan pickup truck was eastbound on Lawai Beach Road shortly before midnight when the 19-year-old driver apparently lost control and struck a rock wall.
The driver and his passenger, also 19, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by medics to Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Their conditions were not available Friday afternoon.
Police report that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors to the crash.
Lawai Beach Road was closed in both directions for roughly four hours during the investigation.
