A fundraiser to help Harmony Harwell defray expenses from her battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma is being hosted by her employer, restaurant Hukilau Lanai in Kapaa, 6 p.m. Monday, April 14.
Diners will be treated to a huge Hukilau buffet dinner, entertainment by five musical groups, a belly dancing troupe and a silent auction.
Harwell, 32, has worked for Hukilau Lanai as a server since 2009. Restaurant owners Ron and Krissi Miller and manager Angela Hoover decided the moment they heard of Harwell’s diagnosis that they would host a fundraiser for her.
“This illness has struck Harmony’s family very unexpectedly,” Hoover said. “One hundred percent of the profits from this event will go directly to Harmony. She’s a spirited and active young woman and we’re so honored to help.”
