LIHUE — The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center cancelled the tsunami advisory for the State of Hawai‘i at 7:25 a.m. this morning. As of 8:30 a.m., no tsunami related events have been reported on Kauai.
A County of Kauai news release stated that tsunami wave heights across the state are now below advisory levels and are continuing to diminish. Smaller sea level changes and strong or unusual currents may persist for several more hours.
Boaters, swimmers and other beachgoers should exercise caution.
Kauai’s beaches remain closed until 9 a.m. this morning as a precaution.
