POIPU — Kim Medeiros finished with 39 points to take All Around Cowgirl honors following the Kauai All Girls Rodeo Association event Sunday at the CJM Country Stables in Poipu.
After tying with Wendy Tannery for third place in the 1st D of the 3D barrel racing event, and tying with Marti Snyder for third place in the steer undecorating event, Medeiros held a 5-point margin over Cora Murayama and Kristin Low who shared All Around Reserve honors at 34 points each.
Medeiros topped the goat tying event on a 19.795 average, capturing the fastest time on a 9.145 go.
Teaming with Hallie Cristobal, Medeiros copped fast time honors in the dally team roping event, stopping the clock on a 10.57 go.
Murayama topped the 2nd D of the 3D pole bending event on a 23,960 go, edging out Medeiros who finished second in the run at a 24.375 go. Low finished fifth in the division, stopping the clock on a 25.104 go.
Low’s bright spot came in the steer undecorating where she topped the event on a 6.44 go, capturing fast time honors along with top honors.
The next KAGRA rodeo will be held on April 27 with the grand entry starting at 10 a.m. at the CJM Country Stables in Poipu.
