PRINCEVILLE — Tayton Williams, as associate with the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, said there are a lot of activities for the guests Friday.
“They had an opportunity for Crossfit training on the lawn, there’s hula aerobics, keiki musical chairs, and even yoga,” Williams, a valet, said. “This is part of the Westin Princeville Well-Being Movement.”
Jolynne Tsukamoto, the Westin Princeville Human Resources director, and coordinator of the well-being program, said Westin launched its Six Pillars of Well Being program globally on Thursday with a series of activities for its guests.
“The program is also extended to include the resort’s associates, and even the community,” Tsukamoto said. “For the associates, we started Friday morning with meditation and stretches, and we’ll end with yoga.”
Reknown as an industry innovator with a history of firsts in the wellness space, the Westin Hotels & Resorts announced the global launch of the Westin Well-being Movement, an ambitious $15 million brand-wide campaign designed to enhance the well-being of guests and associates around the world, states a Westin release.
The program was selected to be released Thursday, coinciding with the International Day of Happiness, which promotes well-being among other things, and the first day of spring, or the Spring Equinox, traditionally recognized as the season of renewal.
“During the launch, the Westin Princeville has a series of activities for both the guests and associates,” Tsukamoto said. “Westin hopes that following the week-long launch period, globally, each Westin will continue with its well-being program.”
Tsukamoto said activities for both guests and associates are formed around the Westin Six Pillars of Well-Being which include Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Sleep Well, Play Well, and Work Well.
“At Westin, our mission is to be a partner in our guests’ well-being, before, during and after their stay,” said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Westin Hotels, in the release. “This is the motivation behind his movement. We are proud to partner with some of the world’s premier wellness brands and experts to provide innovative, personalized offerings at our hotels around the world.”
Jason Sessions, Westin Princeville Food and Beverage manager, said the SuperfoodsRX program allows guests and associates to enjoy the island’s bounty from the land to sea.
“On the Launch Day, we had chefs demonstrating the different ways of grilling salmon, and in the employees’ cafeteria, we had salmon cakes,” Sessions said. “We have adjusted the offering in the employees’ cafeteria to be in accord with the SuperfoodsRx program.”
