Betty Ihara was thrilled when she received a note from Mitsu and an article (was that the same reporter who went to the Sochi Olympics?) on the ti leaf lei she made for the Navy coach. She said he didn’t have her address, but went through the effort of finding her.
Stoop Shimogawa said Mitsu used to play barefoot football for the Kalawai Packers (that’s how the Pop Warner Koloa Packers got its name) back in the Kauai Pineapple league days.
They were at the Kukuiolono Community Association Good Morning KCA breakfast Friday where Ora Tashiro started doing luminaria for the upcoming American Cancer Society Relay for Life (have you started your team, yet?).
Nathan Kawakami is the president of the KCA which Betty said has quite a number of members, although she got sidetracked by breakfast before coming up with a figure.
