Congratulations to Lani Kaui and Kathy Kovala on a great “Painting the Culture” class in watercolor. Saturday, Happy Tamanaha (she wins awards at the annual Lei Day contest) comes to teach the keiki lei making workshop. And, if you’re lucky, maybe Mr. James Yamamoto will be manning the greeter’s table.
Saturday is also the day Judy Webb hosts her Garden Isle Artisans Fair in Poipu (who was looking for sunshine jewelry?).
Ray Blouin and Harvey Maeda are praying for good weather since George Nitta (check out the ethanol demonstration at 11 a.m.) is coming over from Honolulu for the Kauai Classic Cars Cruzin’ in Paradise car show at the Aston Aloha Beach Hotel.
Trichael Pangan is having free hot dogs and chips for the keiki, Ray said. If it’s anything like the Kauai Historical Society’s centennial celebration with the Hui Alu Okinawa event, it should be a blast.
